The Nelson Softball Association Board would like to thank all those that joined us over the weekend in celebrating 60 years of Softball 1962-2022. It was a very memorable weekend with lots of stories shared. Thank you also for all the messages of congratulations that came through from those that were not able to attend. This made it special knowing that your best wishes and thoughts were with us at this milestone.
A special thankyou and mention to all those involved in the organisation of the event and to those that supported the Association by way of their time, energy, memorabilia, resources, service and sponsorship.
On Saturday night we had 6 speakers walk us through the decades; Tony Smith, Peter Harford, Alex Oliver, Glen Scrimgeour, Hamish Fletcher and Derryn French. What an amazing experience and honour it was to be able to hear about our people and the significant events that have helped shape who Nelson Softball is today. A special mention to Tony Smith for giving us the narrative of Nelson Softball, a taonga for us to take into the future.
On Saturday night we also announced Isabelle Jones as the Nelson Softball Association Patron and acknowledged Shirley Harvey for her services to Softball. Congratulations and thank you to both Isabelle and Shirley for their contributions to softball.
He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tangata, he tangata he tangata.
What is the most important thing? It is people, it is people, it is people.
If you have any photos from the evening please share these with us so we can share with all. info@nelsonsoftball.org.nz
